Hi, I’m Aiden, and you know you have eyes? The internet, as well as everyone else around you says you do. And so do I. I believe until proven not, every man, woman and child says so. (Apologies if that didn’t sound too good) And that’s why I come to you, with important info for if you want to get into GWD at John Abbott.

If you’ve ever walked around outside on the streets and looked around, you’d see all these posters and billboards that advertise all these products for all kinds of people. Have you ever wondered how people make those advertisements? Even if not, the answer is people like us. No, I’m not talking about me and you. I’m talking about graphic/web designers. People like us are the reason why you see things like ads (we don’t like seeing them too often either, you aren’t alone), websites, logos, even packaging for your favourite brands.

Addressing the elephant in the room: AI.

Yes, AI is making them too. But we have something they don’t: Authenticity. AI doesn’t push out quality products. It spews information onto a canvas and starts to restructure it into the worst semblance of an advertisement or image. So if you fear AI and its poor attempts to rise to power, come here so we can teach you how to be better than it.

Of course, it’s all in the matter of if you want to get into it. However, we at John Abbott will make sure you get the skills you need, all in the favour of creating those advertisements you see around your area.We can even help you start your own business without having to worry about paying someone, considering how you’ll get those very skills for yourself.

How do you get into this?

We use a little something called Adobe. A subscription which you can purchase that gives you access to near limitless creative freedom. This subscription gives you access to different applications which can be applied to making different content. Some you may have heard of before like Photoshop, but others may be new including Indesign, Illustrator, Bridge, the list goes on.

How long does GWD at John Abbott take?

GWD at John Abbott may take 3 years to do, yes. However, you’ll have all the skills you need to start getting into the business from the first day after graduation. This course won’t just give you the skills to make advertisements and websites. That may be most of it, but not all of it. Be free to become a little creative with how you create what’s required to learn the course. It’s up to you to make or break your own experience with us after all.

How does GWD at John Abbott do it better?

To answer this question, the program itself combines 2 programs into one. It takes Graphic design, a program which mostly focuses on imagery and visual concepts, and combines it with the ultimate UI/UX program; Web design. Most of the time, you’ll see that competitor colleges only have one or the other, or they’re more focused on one program. We focus on both to improve physical and digital at the same time.

So next time you look around in your area, take a small note to appreciate how people may have made those advertisements and products.
